GeForce GTX 1060 uses Pascal-based GP106
Nvidia introduces a new 16nm FinFET GP106 based graphic card- the GeForce GTX 1060. Despite its modelling that suggests towards lower-mid end performance, Nvidia claims that this card delivers GTX-980 class performance with double the power efficiency. The Founders Edition consumes up to 120 watts and made keeping VR, DX11 and DX12 in mind. It also supports OpenGL 4.5 and Vulkan API.
The availability of these graphic cards will start from July 19th onwards. in the EMEAI region (Europe, Middle East, Africa and India), this card’s MSRP is US $249. Nvidia’s GTX 1060 Founders edition will cost US $299. in the UK, Germany and France. No update for the FE’s pricing in the EMEAI region for now.
The Nvidia GTX 1060 uses 1280 CUDA cores, 6 GB GDDR5 at 8Gbps with a base/boost clock of 1.5GHz/ 1.7 GHz. This uses 256-bit memory interface. The base/Founders edition will take extra power from a 6-pin PCIe connector. As the choice of video outputs, it will have 3x DP 1.4, 1x HDMI 2.0B and a dual-link DVI. The card does support maximum 8K resolution support and HDCP 2.2 like its bigger brothers.
In comparison, GTX 960 is a 2 GB GDDR5 card with 6 Gbps memory speed. Nvidia goes as far as saying it can easily be overclocked to 2 GHz. What you should know is that this card does not support SLI of any configuration.

As per official specifications, this is a two-slot card measuring in at 4.378″ x 9.823″ (Height x Length), with a maximum GPU temperature threshold of 94 degrees celsius and recommended to be used with a 400w power supply at least.
