Recently it is found out that AMD chipped six units of the dual-GPU core ‘Gemini’ based Radeon R9 Fury X2 to India for internal testing. The import details show that it’s an entire GPU card with a pre-fitted Cooler Master heatsink. It clearly shows that it was shipped from Canada on 30th September 2015 from Canada, and the company declared each value of the graphic card to be no more than IN Rs. 1,25,350 (equivalent of US $1,922.36 at the time of writing).
The card would be based on two Fiji XT GPU cores which has 4096 stream processors and 4GB HBM memory. As you can see on the picture, the card uses a PLX chip and takes extra power from two 8-pin PCIe power connector. This wouldn’t be the first time AMD pulling out a dual GPU core based graphic cards.
AMD relied on Cooler Master for liquid cooling for Radeon R9 Fury X so it would be interesting what kind of closed unit liquid cooling will be used on the dual core GPU R9 Fury X2. Seeing that there is an end product, most likely the card will be out either by late 2015 or by early 2016.
