Factory Overclocked GTX 10 Series Pascal Cards suffered low memory clocks
After series of complaints about Nvidia GeForce 375.86’s low memory clock issue with factory overclocked Pascal graphic cards, Nvidia released the 375.95 Hotfix driver. The driver does not bring any updates of the previous version. If you have a factory overclocked GTX 10 series Pascal card in your system with the .86 drivers, its best if you download these are you’re good to go.
Many people have installed the 375.86 driver, despite cleaning the older version using DDU. Unfortunately, that haven’t made any difference. Nvidia’s driver doesn’t seem to be in good reputation among its users and reverted back to 375.70 WHQL. Many reported issues such as Witcher 3 with 60 FPS Ultra setting with a 1440p display and GTX 1070, but reduced down to 15-20 FPS using the .86 drivers. Even graphic cards such as the Gigabyte GTX 1080 Gaming Waterforce 8G was churning out sub 30-FPS performance in Battlefield 1. This driver affects only the GTX 10 series cards, which includes GTX 1080, GTX 1070, GTX 1060 and the newly released GTX 1050 & its Ti version. According to users, they have observed clock speed as low as 840MHz during gaming. According to some people, the driver’s issue was fixable using MSI Aftereffects, by changing the option ‘optimal power’ to ‘adaptive’ in its control panel. It seems strange that Nvidia made an oversight, but was able narrow down the issue and released an update.
